When the material put on the sieve, on the first region a lamination occurs according to size of the material and thin material goes downwards. A large proportion of the feed material, passing probability decreases in the first 1/3 of the sieve curtain.
In working areas for best benefit in seives the used area is kept wide and lower height sieves are chosen. Sieve efficency can be defined in different ways according to intended use of it. Generally the ratio between the material that is sieved to the material that is intended to pass from the sieve is called as a sieve efficiency.
